Once a month we host a beautifully curated escape in a remarkable Cape Town setting — sometimes a relaxed social gathering, sometimes a winelands outing, sometimes something intimate and entirely private. Whichever world is yours, everything is taken care of before you arrive — so the only thing left for you to do is unwind.

Think: a relaxed dinner or a spit-braai with women who quickly feel like old friends. A winelands tasting or a scenic railway journey, with a long, easy lunch and wine poured for you. Or something intimate for just a handful — a beautiful, unhurried table, entirely your own. Whichever world is yours, there's a place set for you.

Why we built this

Born from lived experience.

We started Furaha because we were those people. Working constantly, carrying the weight of everyone else's priorities, and realising one evening that we couldn't remember the last time we had done something purely for ourselves — not because it was useful, not because it would lead somewhere. Just because we deserved it.

We looked for a space like this and it didn't exist — not for people like us, not in this city. So we built it. Furaha is what we wish had been there: one escape a month where you put everything down, walk in as you are, and leave lighter than you arrived.

Membership

Choose your escape.

Three worlds, so there's a way in for every woman — social, winelands, or private. Every tier includes one fully hosted escape a month with something to eat and drink — no bill, ever. A once-off joining fee applies to your tier (R500 · R1,000 · R1,500). Move up a tier once a year (before end January) by simply paying the difference. Run on an annual membership year (1 July – 30 June).

No. Connections form naturally, but they're never forced or programmed. Furaha is an escape from the grind — not another room where you have to work. You come to rest, not to pitch.

Yes — Furaha is a members' club for women, by design. It's a space to fully exhale and arrive exactly as you are, among women who simply get it. Membership is for women; you're warmly welcome to bring a guest of any gender — a partner, a friend — to share an escape with you, under the usual guest rules.

Nothing. Your monthly membership covers it in full — food and a curated drinks selection included. You will never receive a bill, a tab, or a request to split anything. The only things priced separately are the optional signature getaways, which are always confirmed to you well in advance.

Each escape features a curated selection chosen by us — typically a sparkling wine on arrival, a white and a red wine, and a signature non-alcoholic option. We pour for you throughout. It's not an open bar — it's something more considered than that. The selection changes each month to suit the setting and the season.

Once a month, every month. We keep gatherings intimate and beautifully hosted rather than large and frequent — quality over quantity, always.

Life happens — and your seat is never wasted. If you can't make it, send a guest in your place, or let us know at least 48 hours ahead and we'll carry it forward so you can bring a friend to a future escape (within three months). It's a membership, not a ticket — so instead of refunds, we make sure you never lose out.

Yes — up to two guests per escape at the member guest rate. A partner, a friend, or a colleague, and you're responsible for their conduct. The same guest is welcome up to twice in a year — after that, if they'd love to keep coming, we invite them to apply for their own membership. Guesting is a beautiful way to introduce someone to Furaha; it just isn't a way around joining.

Because intimacy is the product. A small founding circle — just 30 seats across the three tiers — lets us deliver genuine excellence in the launch year, and founding members lock in a rate and a recognition that will never be offered again.

Membership runs on an annual year (1 July – 30 June), billed monthly. Your founding rate is held for your first 12 months, and as a founding member you'll always pay below the standard rate afterwards — the founding rate is never offered to the public again.
